bio: Nicholas Freeman spent the first thirty years of his life in Chicago where he studied at the Art Institute, and was the founder and director of The Finch Gallery. Looking to pay more for rent, Nicholas moved to New York City in 2009, where he continued a practice outside of the studio as a teacher and publisher of The Wax Paper. In 2017, he left his bearded bicycle-riding Brooklyn brethren for the west coast. Nicholas currently resides in Los Angeles where he happily paints in the backyard and retains an active studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yards.
